Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge and practices about care focused on the neurodevelopment of premature newborns that nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit of an institute in Lima have, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-12-10) Bellodas Andagua, Jessica del Rosario; Camarena Chamaya, Luis MiguelThe specialist nurse in neonatal intensive care faces the great challenge of providing special care to the premature neonate, which focuses on the protection of its neurodevelopment, intervening in the micro and macro environment that surrounds it, this will guarantee safe, quality care as well as reduce morbidity and mortality constituting a great institutional strategy worldwide in the health sector, for this it is important not only to know but to apply these cares focused on neurodevelopment that consist of the correct management of light, noise, newborn posture, opportune handling, grouping of interventions, respect for the sleep and wake period, pain management in addition to working with the family through the kangaroo method, breastfeeding, skin-to-skin contact. The objective of this project is to determine the level of knowledge and practices about care focused on the neurodevelopment of premature newborns that nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit have. The research methodology is quantitative, descriptive and correlational design. The population will be made up of 80 nurses who work in the Neonatal ICU Service of a health institute in Lima. The validated instrument that will be used to measure the level of knowledge will be a 20-question questionnaire and a 32-item checklist to measure practices.
