    Overweight and obesity as a risk factor for non-insulin dependent type two diabetes mellitus

    In the present work, the relationship between overweight and obesity as risk factors with the pathology of type 2 diabetes mellitus will be determined. Materials: Type: Non-experimental Design: Review of 20 clinical studies Method: A review is carried out that includes a sample of 373 people from 20 studies developed in the last 5 years from different continents of the world. The work was carried out with a sample of data correlating the similarities between patients, including type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity, overweight, physical exercise and caloric regimen. Results: The data analyzed from studies carried out in the last 5 years, which show that considering a diet with calorie restriction appropriate for each person according to age, sex, condition, in addition to a physical exercise program with aerobic and anaerobic activity, contributes to the Reduction of blood glucose in overweight or obese diabetic patients. Conclusions: It has been found that the application of a comprehensive program consisting of a calorie-restricted diet and the practice of moderate physical exercise contributes to the reduction of blood glucose in obese patients with T2DM.
