Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge about biosafety measures and practice of prevention of in-hospital infections in nurses of the critical and intensive care unit of a reference hospital in Lima, 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-03-03) Borja Andia, Cecilia Magali; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoIntroduction: Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), also known as nosocomial infections or healthcare-associated infections, are those acquired during a patient's hospital stay. It is estimated that 5-10% of patients admitted to modern hospitals in the developed world contract one or more HAIs. Objective: "To determine how knowledge of biosafety measures relates to hospital-acquired infection prevention practice in critical and intensive care unit nurses". Methods: The study will use the hypothetical-deductive method, quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental, crosssectional, cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational design. The population and census sample will be made up of 70 nursing professionals, with non-probabilistic convenience sampling. For the processing and analysis of the survey data, first the information collected will be sorted, then the coding will be carried out, once the data is collected, the data will be organized according to the study variables, the data will be processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS statistical software to generate tables and/or graphs by dimensions and indicators of the study of the first variable biosafety measures and the second variable prevention of infections associated with health care; Likewise, to determine the relationship between the variables, the Spearman Correlation Statistical Test (Rho) will be applied.
