    Reacciones adversas a medicamentos antituberculosos en pacientes hospitalizados en el servicio de neumología en el Hospital Nacional “Dos de Mayo” 2018

    This study was conducted to provide all hospital healthcare personnel involved in the treatment of tuberculosis patients with a tool to identify adverse reactions and thus enable their proper management. Objective: To determine adverse reactions to anti-tuberculosis drugs in patients hospitalized in the Pulmonology Service of the "Dos de Mayo" National Hospital during 2018. Materials and methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective study was conducted. The clinical records of hospitalized patients with a tuberculosis diagnosis who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were reviewed. The data obtained from the clinical records were transferred to a data collection form that was previously validated by an expert, and then processed and analyzed to obtain the results. Results: The adverse reactions to anti-tuberculosis drugs were vomiting (29.41%); elevated liver enzymes (20.59%); erythema and nausea (14.71%); rash (11.76%); and skin pigmentation, psychosis, and pruritus (2.94%). Conclusions: The most frequent adverse reactions were vomiting, elevated liver enzymes, nausea, erythema, rash, skin pigmentation, psychosis, and pruritus.
