    Transfusion of hemocomponents in oncology patients at the Oncosalud Clinic, June 2016 to June 2018

    The objective was to determine the correlation between renal profile and glycosylated hemoglobin levels in patients with diabetes mellitus treated at the María Auxiliadora Hospital in 2017." This was an observational, analytical-correlational, retrospective, and cross-sectional study, with a sample of 169 medical records of patients with diabetes mellitus. The instrument used was a data collection form developed by the researcher, and the data were collected using SPSS version 25. Results: 57.4% of the patients were male. The average values of the variables were: 1.05 mg/dL creatinine, 7.58% glycosylated hemoglobin, 230.32 mg of microalbuminuria in 24 hours, and 54.16 mg/dL for urea. The variables with the highest percentages were: Glycosylated hemoglobin, with 42% at the acceptable level; microalbuminuria, with 59.8% higher than 30 mg/24 hours; creatinine, with 65.7% at normal levels; and urea, with 51.5% at normal levels (15 to 40 mg/dL). There was a significant relationship between glycosylated hemoglobin and renal profile (p=0.485 with creatinine level, p=0.055 with microalbuminuria level, and p=0.768 with urea level).
