With the use of technological resources mediated by ICTs, students currently have access to endless stored information, so metacognitive strategies give them the ability to self-regulate their learning, through a constant process that involves organizing the new knowledge with those acquired throughout their life and educational experience. For this reason, the thesis that is presented, had as objective, to determine the relationship that exists between metacognitive strategies and the use of ICTs in students of the second specialty of intensive care at a Peruvian university, in the year 2022. An investigation of the hypothetical-deductive method was carried out, with a quantitative approach, applied type, correlational level and non-experimental design. The study population consisted of 100 students, for the data collection the survey was used as a technique and the questionnaire as an instrument, subsequently processing the data through the statistical program SPSS-26, the analysis of the results showed that there is a significant relationship between metacognitive strategies and the use of ICTs, specifying that the indicated relationship is positive, considering that the degree of correlation is significant and positive, according to the value of p= 0.000 < 0.05 and a correlation coefficient of Spearman of 0.616, after which it was concluded that it was possible to determine the relationship between metacognitive strategies and the use of ICTs.
