Regarding vascular access through the so-called central venous catheter (CVC), the procedure is performed for parental nutrition or medication administration purposes. Approximately 15% of patients who undergo CVC placement generate mechanical complications, such as failures in the location of the CVC or in arterial puncture, the generation of a hematoma, the perforation of a vessel or a pneumothorax, or a hemothorax; Secondly, infectious complications at the catheter insertion site, one in its path, or catheter-associated bacteremia; and finally, thrombotic complications may occur, such as venous thrombosis, catheter obstruction, the occurrence of a pulmonary thromboembolism, etc. It is therefore necessary to Objective: Determine the knowledge and its relationship with nursing care for patients with Central Venous Catheters in the ICU of the Rebagliati Martins Hospital, 2021 Methods: The research will have a quantitative approach and a correlational level. The sample will be made up of the 30 nursing graduates who work in the ICU.
