    Factores relacionados con el incumplimiento terapéutico en el adulto mayor con hiperglucemia que acuden en la botica Varela del distrito de Breña, Lima 2023

    The present research, entitled “Factors Related to Therapeutic Noncompliance in Older Adults with Hyperglycemia Attending the Varela Pharmacy in the District of Breña, Lima 2023”, aimed to determine the relationship between the factors associated with therapeutic noncompliance in older adults with hyperglycemia who attend the Varela Pharmacy in the district of Breña, Lima 2023. Method: The study had a non-experimental design, descriptive-correlational level, analytical in nature, with a quantitative approach, cross-sectional, basic, and bivariate type. The sample consisted of 80 older adult patients with hyperglycemia who voluntarily responded to two questionnaires comprising a total of 32 questions on a Likert-type scale. The data collection techniques used were surveys and questionnaires as instruments. Results: The findings revealed low levels of therapeutic non-adherence associated with the related factors (15.4%); a lower percentage was observed in relation to socioeconomic factors (12.2%). The factors characteristic of the disease (13.6%) and those characteristic of the treatment (15.8%) showed better correlational levels. Conclusion: It is concluded that, in the evaluation of older adult patients diagnosed with hyperglycemia, there is a low but significant correlation between the related factors and therapeutic noncompliance.
