    Efficacy of central venous catheters impregnated with antiseptics and/or anti-bacterials for the prevention of bloodstream infections in patients across different services

    Objectives: Determine the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in preventing bloodstream infections in patients. Methodology: The systematic review of the 9 scientific articles found on the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in the prevention of bloodstream infections in patients, were found in the following databases Cochrane, Lilacs, Scielo , Medline Pubmed, all of them were analyzed according to the Grade scale to determine their strength and quality of evidence. Results: Of the 9 articles reviewed, 56% (5/9) show the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in preventing blood flow. While 33% (3/9) show that it is not effective, 11% (1/9) are indifferent to the study carried out. Conclusions: Of the 9 articles reviewed, 56% (5/9) show the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in preventing blood flow.

    EFICACIA DEL CATÉTER VENOSO CENTRAL IMPREGNADO CON ANTISÉPTICOS Y/O ANTI-BACTERIANOS PARA LA PREVENCIÓN DE INFECCIONES DEL TORRENTE SANGUÍNEO EN LOS PACIENTES EN LOS DIFERENTES SERVICIOS

    Objetivos: Determinar la eficacia del catéter venoso central impregnado con antisépticos y/o antimicrobianos en la prevención de infecciones del torrente sanguíneo en los pacientes. Metodología: La revisión sistemática de los 9 artículos científicos encontrados sobre la eficacia del catéter venoso central impregnado con antisépticos y/o antimicrobianos en la prevención de infecciones del torrente sanguíneo en los pacientes, fueron hallados en la siguiente bases de datos Cochrane, Lilacs, Scielo, Medline Pubmed, todos ellos fueron analizados según la escala Grade para determinar su fuerza y calidad de evidencia. Resultados: De Los 9 artículos revisados, el 56%(5/9) evidencian la eficacia del catéter venoso central impregnado con antisépticos y/o antimicrobianos en la prevención del torrente sanguíneo. Mientras que el 33% (3/9) evidencian que no es eficaz, un 11% (1/9) es indiferente al estudio realizado. Conclusiones: De Los 9 artículos revisados, el 56%(5/9) evidencian la eficacia del catéter venoso central impregnado con antisépticos y/o antimicrobianos en la prevención del torrente sanguíneo.
