Lima 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-08-04) Callampi Vilca, Henry Anival; Justil Guerrero, Hugo JesúsThe irrational use of medicines is a global problem due to medication errors, with prescribing being the most common error. The objective of this research was to evaluate prescribing errors in prescriptions filled at an Inkafarma pharmaceutical office in San Juan 1, Lima, in 2021. Methodology: The study was applied type, with a deductive method, and an observational, prospective, cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 2,000 prescriptions, of which 322 were analyzed. A data collection form was used as the instrument, covering four dimensions: prescriber data, patient data, medication data, and prescription legibility, all of which must comply with the manual of good prescribing practices. Results: In the patient data dimension, 61.8% were non-compliant. In the medication data dimension, 69.3% were non-compliant. In the prescriber data dimension, there was a minimum error of 0.9%, and for legibility, 7.1% were non-compliant. Conclusion: All of the analyzed prescriptions presented at least one error in their dimensions. Patient data had the highest overall error rate, with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name) indicator specifically having 20.5% of errors.
