Publicación Acceso abierto Factores emotivos y físicos asociados al dolor de espalda en adultos mayores de 30 años de una botica de Los Olivos, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-13) Calongos Culqui, Milca; Lauro Gamarra, Alvaro Gonzalo; Muñoz Jáuregui, Manuel JesúsThe objective was to determine the relationship between emotional and physical factors and back pain in adults over 30 years old from a pharmacy in Los Olivos, 2023. The study followed a hypothetical method with a quantitative approach, basic type, non-experimental design, cross-sectional, with a descriptive-correlational scope. The sample consisted of 186 individuals selected through simple random probabilistic sampling. Data were collected using a survey and a questionnaire, and Spearman’s Rho was applied to test the hypothesis. Results showed that among the 186 adults, 51.6% were female, and 38.7% were aged 51–60 years. Regarding emotional and physical factors, 34.9% reported difficulty standing for more than 30 minutes, and 38.7% reported difficulty lifting weight. Between 36% and 41.4% experienced difficulty participating in community activities, falling asleep, and concentrating. Between 38.7% and 39.85% reported difficulty bathing, dressing, and performing their work. Regarding back pain, 38.7% to 44.6% presented obesity or overweight, depression, muscle tension, and difficulty lifting or pulling heavy objects. For acute pain, 34.9% to 40.9% reported it partially subsided with rest and analgesics, predominantly during the day, and triggered by musculoskeletal injuries. For chronic pain, 25.3% to 39.8% reported it did not subside with analgesics, was predominantly nocturnal, and caused by inflammation or tumors. Spearman’s Rho (rho=0.206) revealed a significant correlation (p=0.005) between emotional and physical factors and back pain. In conclusion, a low positive relationship was observed between emotional and physical factors and back pain in adults over 30 years old.
