Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of diet in reducing the risk of prostate cancer(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-02) Camarena Landeo, Ada Elizabeth; Perez Vargas, Mery Lourdes; Millones Gómez, Segundo GermánObjective: To systematically synthesize the available evidence from studies carried out on the effectiveness of diet as a risk factor in prostate cancer. Material and Methods: Systematic observational, retrospective quantitative review, subjected to critical selection, using the GRADE evaluation system to identify the degree of evidence, found in databases: Epistemonikos, Pubmed, BVS, Google Scholar, Medline. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 60% (6/10) are meta-analysis, 20% (2/10) are systematic reviews and 20% (2/10) are cohort studies. The evidence obtained from the systematic review in the present work originates from: Sweden 10%, Italy 20%, USA 40%, Korea 10%, Canada 10%, England 10%. Results: The evidence found, 100% (n=10/10) indicates that there is scientific evidence of the relationship of certain foods and nutrients with the reduction of the risk of developing prostate cancer. Conclusion: A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, alliun vegetables (garlic, chinese onion, onion), cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, brucellus sprouts, cauliflower), fresh fish, and green tea are considered protective foods for the prevention of prostate cancer. High consumption of dairy products, calcium, red meat, with high fat content, combined with cooking methods, and processed meats, increase the risk of prostate cancer.
