Ítem Acceso abierto Peripheral muscle strength and pulse oximetry in adult patients at the Honorio Delgado Espinoza Regional Hospital, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-28) Carbajal Alarcón, Kathia; Chero Pisfil, Santos LucioA frequent problem during hospital stays is the physical deterioration and muscle weakness patients experience while waiting for surgery or recovery from various pathologies, which lead to muscle mass reduction and respiratory complications that may later manifest in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dyspnea, fatigue, and musculoskeletal disorders. This increases morbidity rates, affecting an estimated “1.71 billion people worldwide.” This research aims to explore the relationship between peripheral muscle strength and pulse oximetry in adult patients at the “Hospital Regional Honorio Delgado Espinosa,” to create intervention programs as a cardiorespiratory specialist during the hospital phase, aiming to prevent future complications and improve patients' quality of life, contributing to the scientific community. Patients suffering from multiple diseases, excluding psychiatric conditions, will participate in the study. A custom-designed form will be used for data collection, including age, sex, and diagnosis.
