Publicación Acceso abierto Eficacia del ácido peracético para la desinfección in situ en el área de envasado de formas farmacéuticas estériles en un laboratorio de industria farmacéutica, Lima, septiembre – 2019 a septiembre – 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-22) Torres Maccanascca, Karina; Cardoza Sánchez, Verónica; Pinedo Panduro, Lauro SócratesThe objective of this study was to demonstrate the efficacy of peracetic acid for the in-situ disinfection of equipment in the 'sterile packaging area 2' for pharmaceutical forms within a pharmaceutical industry laboratory. An experimental, quantitative, and cross-sectional study was conducted using the dilution-neutralization method to determine the efficacy of peracetic acid at concentrations of 0.6%, 1.2%, and 1.8% with contact times of 5, 10, and 15 minutes. For in-situ antimicrobial activity, the contact plate method was used for surfaces and the swab method was used for equipment. Statistical analysis was performed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Kruskal-Wallis methods. It was found that peracetic acid at a 1.2% concentration with a 5-minute contact time showed bacterial and fungal growth, unlike the 10- and 15-minute contact times, where it satisfactorily eliminated them. At the 1.8% concentration, no growth of bacteria or fungi was observed for any exposure time. The determination of antimicrobial activity on surfaces and equipment showed a 99.999% reduction.
