Ítem Acceso abierto Nursing knowledge and practices in the care of patients with colostomy in the surgical service of a hospital in San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima - 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-04) Carlos Córdova, Janeth Eliana; Benavente Sanchez, Yennys KatiuscaIntroduction: Colostomized patients require specific attention regarding colostomy care, in addition to the fundamental role exercised by the patient in their self-care; therefore, nursing professionals must assume their competencies and execute their assisting and educating role to favor their recovery and adequate insertion to their daily life. The objective of the study is: "To determine the relationship between knowledge about colostomy care and practices for the care of the patient with colostomy in nurses of the surgical service of a hospital in San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima - 2024". Methodology: Deductive Method, Approach, Quantitative, Applied Research Type, Descriptive, Correlational and Cross-sectional Design. The population consisted of 60 nurses, to whom 2 instruments will be applied: the first instrument is the "Questionnaire of knowledge of the care of the patient with colostomy directed to the nursing staff" created by León A., which was submitted to expert judgment and has a reliability KR20=0.99. The second instrument is a "Ficha de Observación Directa de las prácticas del cuidado del paciente con colostomía" by Aguirre D. which was validated by expert judgment and has a reliability KR-20= 0.90. The data collected will be analyzed using SPSS version 26 statistical software and will be subjected to descriptive and inferential statistical tests such as Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient to determine the relationship between variables.
