Ítem Acceso abierto Nutritional status and hemoglobin level of children under 3 years of age in a hospital of San Juan de Lurigancho 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-03) Carpio Salas, Jaqueline Marlene; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleThe issues of anemia, malnutrition, overweight, and obesity are prevalent in our country, particularly in the child population under 3 years of age. These problems are influenced by multiple factors that play a significant role in their occurrence. The most frequent factors include inadequate complementary feeding provided by mothers to their children during the second half of life, improper administration of micronutrients during infancy, the lack of importance given to periodic hemoglobin monitoring from infancy, the prevalence of infections, and other recurrent illnesses during early childhood. A quantitative study with a correlational design will be conducted, aiming to determine the relationship between nutritional status and hemoglobin levels in children under three years old at a hospital in San Juan de Lurigancho, 2021. The population will consist of 2,400 children, and a sample of 331 children who will be attended at the CRED clinic of the hospital. For data collection, a checklist will be used to extract data from medical records through observation. Data will be processed in an Excel database and analyzed using SPSS version 26.0. Descriptive and correlational statistics will be used to analyze the results. To determine the association or relationship between the two variables, the Student's t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient will be applied.
