Ítem Acceso abierto Risk factors, management and perinatal outcome in a pregnant woman with severe preeclampsia treated in a public hospital level II-2, 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-07) Carranza Cruz , Carold Jaqueline; Ayala Peralta, Félix DasioPreeclampsia is a condition that can severely affect the health of both the mother and the newborn. In this case, intrauterine growth retardation, preterm delivery, and biochemical alterations in the mother were reported. For this reason, proper management of such complications should be prioritized to ensure a positive outcome. Various risk factors were identified, such as a long intergenetic period, overweight, a history of preeclampsia in previous pregnancies, and lack of prenatal care. During the first day of obstetric hospitalization, due to severity criteria and liver dysfunction, it was decided to complete the pregnancy via cesarean section, resulting in a live female newborn weighing 1270 g at birth. The immediate postoperative care was managed in the ICU, and the patient was discharged with a favorable outcome on the 8th day post-cesarean. This is an observational, descriptive, retrospective study reviewing the clinical history of a case of severe preeclampsia management in a level II-2 public hospital.
