Uso de ansiolíticos en pacientes post-COVID-19 de 30 a 80 años atendidos en el Sistema Metropolitano de la Solidaridad distrito de La Victoria Lima, 2023

The objective of this research was to determine the incidence of anxiolytic use in post-COVID-19 patients aged 30 to 80 years who were treated at the Metropolitan Solidarity System in La Victoria, Lima, in 2023. The methodology employed an inductive–deductive method, with a quantitative approach, basic research type, non-experimental design, cross-sectional cut, and descriptive scope. The sample consisted of 87 patients aged 30 to 80 years who had been diagnosed with COVID-19, selected through simple probabilistic random sampling. Data collection was carried out through a survey, using a structured questionnaire as the instrument. The results revealed that the incidence of anxiolytic use among post-COVID-19 patients was 87.4%. The most commonly consumed anxiolytic was Alprazolam (32.2%), with 31% of patients with a healthy lifestyle reporting its use. Regarding treatment duration, 36.8% of women used anxiolytics for more than three months, while among patients with a healthy lifestyle, 48.3% reported treatment exceeding three months. Furthermore, 72.4% obtained anxiolytics through medical prescription, most patients consumed them every 24 hours, and 40.2% reported the use of other medications in addition to anxiolytics. In conclusion, the incidence of anxiolytic use in post-COVID-19 patients aged 30 to 80 years treated at the Metropolitan Solidarity System in La Victoria, Lima, during 2023 was 87.4%, with Alprazolam being the most frequently consumed, followed by Clonazepam.
