Ítem Acceso abierto Burnout syndrome levels according to sociodemographic characteristics of full-time professors at Universidad Norbert Wiener - 2014(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Casanova Chamache, Rocío Jackelyne; De Jesús Benavides, Rosa Milagros; Alvarado Chávez, Petronila ElizabethObjective: To determine the levels of Burnout Syndrome according to sociodemographic characteristics of full-time teachers at the Norbert Wiener University, October - December 2014. Methods: The study was descriptive, cross-sectional, and quantitative. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI-HS) questionnaire was applied to 30 full-time teachers working at Norbert Wiener University in different schools and/or faculties. Results: The areas most affected by Burnout Syndrome were: Lack of Personal Accomplishment, where 43.3% (13) experienced the most problems, and with the lowest percentage were: Emotional Exhaustion (16.7%, 5) and Depersonalization (23.3%, 7). According to sociodemographic characteristics, the years of service showed statistical significance with the Depersonalization area, and no significance was found in other areas. Conclusions: Full-time teachers at Norbert Wiener University from different schools and/or faculties are most affected by Lack of Personal Accomplishment, with years of service being the most significant factor in the presence of Burnout Syndrome in the Depersonalization area.
