This research wants to favor the acquisition of scholar knowledges and promote the affective development through the understanding and the emotional management of own and other’s feelings. This study is almost experimental, it takes two groups of students from both sexes, their ages are around 9 and 12 years old, and they belong to fifth grade of elementary school. In one group, I applied some strategies for strengthen their emotional development, and in the other group, whit similar characteristics, I decided not to intervene the scenario with the purpose of make comparisons between these groups and analyze their academic achievement. As a method, I used an emotional intelligence test and an instrument for following the student’s academic performance. The results of this experiment evidenced that the group in which were applied emotional education strategies, conformed by 35 students, the 57,14 % got a superior academic performance and none student got the lowest level. It’s important to keep in mind that pre-test that it was applied, the same group got a 17,2% of low academic achievement and the 17,2% in high academic level, this shows up an evident improvement in their academic performance. The analytic verification of the results in both groups allows the acknowledgement of one important fact: the affective development have an influence in the student’s academic performance, and open up a road to strength a more integrate educational development of children.
