Berg "Capinuri" en ratones(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-03) Arzapalo Campos, Julissa; Castillo Jiménez, María Bertha; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraThe objective of this research was to evaluate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect of the ethanolic extract from the leaves of Maquira coriacea (H. Karst.) C.C. Berg, 'Capinuri,' in mice. Methodology: A 'Solubility Test' and 'Preliminary Qualitative Analysis' were performed to identify the secondary metabolites present in the 'Capinuri' extract. To evaluate the 'Analgesic Effect,' the 0.8% acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing method was used. The extract was evaluated at concentrations of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg, with tramadol (40 mg/kg) and acetaminophen (300 mg/kg) as standards. For the 'Anti-inflammatory Effect,' the 0.6% xylene-induced ear edema method was employed via topical administration. Creams formulated with the 'Capinuri' extract at 0.5, 1, and 2% were compared with Diclofenac 1% cream and Hydrocortisone 1% cream. Results: The analgesic effect at a dose of 200 mg/kg showed a 33% inhibition of abdominal writhes, which was below tramadol's (42%) but above acetaminophen's (23%). Regarding the anti-inflammatory effect, the 2% cream showed a 58.6% inhibition of inflammation in the right ear pinna of the mice, which was less than hydrocortisone's (84.8%) but similar to diclofenac's (50.3%). Conclusions: The ethanolic extract from the leaves of Maquira coriacea (H. Karst.) C.C. Berg, 'Capinuri,' showed both an analgesic and an anti-inflammatory effect in mice.
