Publicación Acceso abierto Reacciones adversas del tratamiento con quimioterapia parenteral en pacientes del servicio de oncología ambulatoria del Hospital Nacional Daniel Alcides Carrión, Callao 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-18) Castillo Ordoñez, Rosario Del Pilar; Quispe Padilla, Jorge Antonio; Justil Guerrero, Hugo JesúsThe objective of this research was to evaluate the adverse reactions of parenteral chemotherapy treatment in patients served in the outpatient oncology service of the Daniel Alcides Carrión National Hospital (HNDAC), Callao, in 2021. The study used a cross-sectional observational design of an applied type. A non-probabilistic convenience sampling method and the filing technique were used to study a sample of 130 clinical records. The data collection form recorded age, sex, diagnosis, comorbidity, treatment regimen, adverse reaction according to organ and system, causality, and severity of the ADR. Results: The highest percentage of adverse reactions occurred in female patients aged 60 years and over (37.9%) (81.8% female). The most prevalent comorbidity was Arterial Hypertension (26.5%), and the most frequent diagnosis was breast cancer (46.9%). The most affected organ and system was the digestive system (44.7%), and the most observed treatment regimen was Adriamycin + Cyclophosphamide. The severity was moderate (60.6%), and conditional (68.9%) was the most significant causality assessment. Conclusion: Adverse reactions were most prevalent in female patients aged 60 and over, with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus as the most representative comorbidity, and breast cancer as the most frequent diagnosis with ADRs. The most affected organ system was the digestive system, the treatment regimen was Adriamycin + Cyclophosphamide, and the adverse reactions were mostly moderate and conditional. Finally, of the 132 adverse reactions evaluated, the most frequent were nausea, alopecia, and peripheral neuropathy.
