Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of central venous catheters impregnated with antiseptics and/or anti-bacterials for the prevention of bloodstream infections in patients across different services(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-07) Cajo Luque, Carla Roxana; Castro Lecca, Jose Luis; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjectives: Determine the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in preventing bloodstream infections in patients. Methodology: The systematic review of the 9 scientific articles found on the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in the prevention of bloodstream infections in patients, were found in the following databases Cochrane, Lilacs, Scielo , Medline Pubmed, all of them were analyzed according to the Grade scale to determine their strength and quality of evidence. Results: Of the 9 articles reviewed, 56% (5/9) show the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in preventing blood flow. While 33% (3/9) show that it is not effective, 11% (1/9) are indifferent to the study carried out. Conclusions: Of the 9 articles reviewed, 56% (5/9) show the effectiveness of the central venous catheter impregnated with antiseptics and/or antimicrobials in preventing blood flow.
