The methodology was a basic, deductive, correlational-observational study with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The population consisted of people over 30 years old who frequent the Sarita Colonia - Canto Grande market in San Juan de Lurigancho. A sample of 131 was used after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data collection technique was a survey, and the instrument was a questionnaire that evaluated the level of knowledge of respiratory infections and antibiotic use. Results showed a high level of knowledge of respiratory infections in 66.4% of the population, while antibiotic use was at 67.9%, indicating a moderate level of use. The Spearman's Rho test yielded a significance value of 0.045 (p < 0.05). In conclusion, a weak negative relationship exists between the level of knowledge of respiratory infections and the use of antibiotics.
