    Knowledge and self-care practices on the prevention of diabetic foot in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Essalud diabetes and hypertension comprehensive care center, Lima 2021

    The present research work aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and self-care practices for the prevention of diabetic foot in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Essalud Comprehensive Diabetes and Hypertension Care Center, Lima 2021. Type and research design; It is of a quantitative approach, according to its orientation it is applied, prospective cross-sectional correlational design; the sample is made up of 264 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Two instruments will be applied; one to measure the level of self-care knowledge for the prevention of diabetic foot, built in 2015, by Chero, et al, made up of 20 questions, with three dimensions, and for the practice of self-care, the self-care practices questionnaire for the prevention of diabetic foot will be used, adapted by Alcalde and Clavijo 2013 consists of 29 questions, three dimensions, each with three response alternatives. The results will be processed using the Microsoft Excel program of the Microsoft Office 2019 package and the SPSS program version 27.0; for the analysis of the data, the Chi square test will be applied, and the Kendall correlation coefficient (Kendall's Tau-c) to establish the relationship between the two study variables.
