Ítem Acceso abierto Hemoglobin and functional status in post-COVID-19 patients at the Honorio Delgado Espinoza Regional Hospital, Arequipa, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-27) Cayllahua Herrera, Evelyn Jeanneth; Chero Pisfil, Santos LucioAccording to a study conducted in France with 121 patients suffering from COVID-19 sequelae, functional status post COVID-19 was assessed using the Post-COVID-19 Functional Status (PCFS) scale to identify functional limitations in patients 2 to 9 months after the disease. The study confirmed that the PCFS instrument is reliable for patients requiring ongoing supervision, even for those without pulmonary sequelae. Another study in Egypt recommended using the PCFS scale to demonstrate the recovery process and possible dysfunctions caused by COVID-19. In China, a study followed 95 patients with COVID-19 aged 53-69 for six months to determine their functional status using the PCFS instrument. The results showed that 70.5% had no dysfunction, 9.5% had insignificant limitation, 12.6% had mild limitation, and 7.4% had moderate limitation. This study concluded that a small proportion of patients can achieve reliable functional outcomes. Based on these findings, this study aims to find a relationship between hemoglobin levels and functional status in post-COVID-19 patients at the Honorio Delgado Espinoza Regional Hospital in Arequipa, 2022.
