    Evidence on the relationship between nursing leadership styles and job satisfaction.

    Objective: To systematize the evidence on the relationship between nursing leadership styles and job satisfaction. Materials and Methods: A systematic, observational, and retrospective review that synthesizes the results of multiple primary studies; being 100% cross-sectional descriptive studies. The search was restricted to full-text articles, and the selected articles underwent critical reading using the GRADE system to assign the strength of recommendation. It was found that 30% (03) correspond to Chile, 60% (06) to Colombia, Spain, and Brazil respectively, and 10% (01) corresponds to Cuba. Results: In the selection, 10 articles were chosen, of which 40% identified 4 types of leadership: directive, participative, persuasive, and delegative, and their slight impact on job satisfaction. However, 60% of these articles determined the influence of transformational and transactional leadership on the staff being led and demonstrated the effectiveness of relationship-based leadership on job satisfaction. Conclusions: The reviewed research showed the influence of leadership types on job satisfaction, demonstrating that among the various leadership styles, transformational leadership is the most effective and greatly contributes to the job satisfaction of nursing staff.
