Method: Quantitative approach, cross-sectional correlational descriptive level. 110 preschoolers participated. Regarding the instruments, the weight and height registration form, the anthropometric assessment growth curves recommended by the Ministry of Health and the Psychomotor Development Test (TEPSI) were used. As results: 30.9% presented chronic malnutrition and 12.7% presented obesity. Regarding the general psychomotor development, it is observed that 60.9% was normal, obtained by areas, that in the area that presented the best psychomotor development were the motor area with 75.5% and the areas that presented the highest risk were the area coordination 38.2% and delay was the language area 11.8%. Conclusions: There is a correlation between nutritional status and psychomotor development, that is, between the height/age indicator and psychomotor development, a statistically significant relationship was found with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), and in the weight/weight indicator height and psychomotor development, a statistically significant relationship was found with a p-value of 0.002 (p<0.05). No relationship was found with the weight/age indicator.
