La motivación académica y el desempeño docente desde la perspectiva de los discentes de ciencias de la salud en un Hospital de Lima 2023

The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between academic motivation and teaching performance from the perspective of Health Sciences students in a Lima Hospital, 2023. It is an applied study, hypothetico-deductive method, quantitative approach, non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational design. The population was composed of health science students who carry out internships in the Institution, including medicine, nursing, nutrition, and psychology. The sample was a non-probabilistic sample composed of 82 students of the aforementioned careers. The Academic Motivation Scale (EMA) questionnaire by Vallerand et al (1992) was used as an instrument, consisting of 28 items and the "University Teaching Qualification Framework" (2020) proposed by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (Chile), consisting of 32 items, applied virtually. The data obtained were digitalized and processed using SPSS v 25, and for the results, Spearman's Rho test, the p=value Academic Motivation (Rho=0.022) and Teaching Performance (Rho=0.000). Results: 74 students (90.2%) have a high academic motivation; 75 students (91.5%) perceive a high level of teaching performance, where for both variables there is no evidence of results in the low level. It is concluded that the health sciences students have a high level of academic motivation and perceive a high performance of the teachers who have helped them through the difficult moments of the pandemic and have maintained in them the desire to continue with their professional development.
