Ítem Acceso abierto Validity and reliability of the emergency severity index in the triage of patients in the emergency service(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-02) Chambi Mamani, Gilver Frae; Vilca Cruzado, Judith Allizon; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MaríaObjective: To systematically analyze the available evidence from studies conducted on the effectiveness of the emergency severity index in the triage of emergency service patients to ensure the validity and reliability of care. Of the 10 articles reviewed, 90% (9/10) correspond to the methodological design of Meta-analysis review, 10% (1/10) are systematic review Meta-analysis. Results: Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 90% (09/10) evidence the effectiveness of the emergency severity index in the triage of emergency service patients to guarantee the validity and reliability of care; while 10% (01/10) refute the proposal, referring to the subjectivity and variability inherent in applying it, which can lead to a functional lack of classification and a load of undifferentiated patients at level 3 of the emergency severity index. Conclusions: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 9 of 10 demonstrate the effectiveness of the emergency severity index in the triage of emergency service patients to guarantee the validity and reliability of care.
