    Knowledge and practices on prevention of sharps accidents in the health personnel of the emergency service in a hospital in Lima, 2021

    The study “Knowledge and practices on prevention of sharps accidents in health personnel of the emergency service in a hospital in Lima Peru 2020, was proposed as Objective: Analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and practices on prevention of sharps accidents in the emergency service health personnel. Materials and Methods: the research is of an application type with a quantitative approach, correlational scope, non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The study population is 80 health professionals who work in the emergency service. Two instruments will be applied, the questionnaire for the first variable and the observation guide for the second variable. The validation step through the method of expert judges was carried out through Pearson's R for both instruments, obtaining for each item a value greater than r>0.20, giving adequate validity to both instruments. Reliability was obtained through the Kuder Richardson statistical test, the questionnaire that evaluated knowledge giving a value of 0.086 and for the checklist that evaluated practices giving a value of 0.2, giving reliability to both instruments for their application in the research. .
