Ítem Acceso abierto Adhesive resistance against shear forces of metal brackets using different adhesive cements. In vitro study. Lima – Peru 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-01-25) Yanac Calero, Darwin Newton; Chanamé Marín, Ann RosemaryOne of the challenges in orthodontic treatment with braces is the installation and maintenance of fixed orthodontic appliances throughout the duration of the treatment. Therefore, the adhesive resistance to shear forces of metal brackets using different adhesive cements was determined. The research was experimental, cross-sectional, prospective, and comparative, where two types of cements were used: Orthocem and Heliosit, bonding to 20 dental pieces with their brackets. The laboratory mechanical procedure was then carried out using a universal testing machine, which applied vertical force at a rate of 1 mm/min until the brackets detached from the tooth, recording the data of this action. The adhesive resistance to shear forces of the metal brackets using the Orthocem adhesive cement was 2.592 ± 1.28 megapascals, and for the Heliosit adhesive cement, it was 2.437 ± 0.80 megapascals. The conclusion was that both Orthocem and Heliosit adhesive cements present similar adhesive resistance, with no statistically significant difference (p>0.05) to shear forces.Ítem Acceso abierto Average variation of sales prices in dental treatments as a result of Covid _ 19, between the city of Andahuaylas and Abancay - Apurímac, 2021.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-27) Torres Gonzales, Jaqueline; Chanamé Marín, Ann RosemaryThe objective was to determine the average variation in the prices of dental treatments as a consequence of COVID-19 between the cities of Andahuaylas and Abancay, Apurímac, in 2021. An instrument issued by the Peruvian Dental Association, which was modified and validated, was used, achieving a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.744, indicating high reliability. The sample consisted of 378 dentists who answered 26 online questions. The results by dimensions were as follows: telephone triage (85.94%), pre-appointment instructions (92.31%), pre-entry measures (73.21%), dentist protection (93.9%), and patient protection (82.23%). In the clinical area and solid waste management, the compliance levels were regular, with 78.78% and 57.03%, respectively. Overall, dentists had a compliance level of over 75% with COVID-19 biosecurity regulations. The hypothesis test conducted showed an approximate significance of 0%, rejecting the null hypothesis and concluding that more than 75% of dentists comply with COVID-19 biosecurity regulations.Ítem Acceso abierto family environment and self-assessment of academic performance in dentistry students at norbert wiener private university in times of covid-19; 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-05) Alburqueque Altamirano, Elizabeth; Chanamé Marín, Ann RosemaryThe family environment is a space of family tuning that presupposes a degree of communication, living patterns, cohesion, and control conditioned to a family structure, based on the dimensions of the FES Scale by Moos, R. and Trickett (1985). The connection between the family environment and self-assessment of academic achievement was established for students from the Dentistry program at UPNW during the COVID-19 period. A quantitative model was used, and the research was applied through a descriptive design. The study had a correlational, cross-sectional design. An instrument to measure the family climate was applied, and the weighted average of students was obtained. The research sample consisted of 165 students selected through simple probabilistic sampling. According to the collected data, a low inverse statistical association (r = -.004) between the family environment and academic performance was found. However, its statistical significance has a value greater than 0.05, rejecting the hypothesis. It was concluded that the family environment is not associated with the academic performance conditions of Dentistry students at the Universidad Norbert Wiener in 2021.Ítem Acceso abierto Fatigue resistance of exact fiberglass posts - angelus, white post, angelus reforpost, in vitro study – Lima 2020.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-19) Dilas Teran, Santos; Chanamé Marín, Ann RosemaryThe objective of this study was to determine the best fatigue resistance of the fiberglass posts Exacto - Angelus, White Post, and Reforpost by Ángelus in an in vitro study. The year 2019 had more cases of injuries (95%) compared to 2018 (15%). In terms of the aggressor, the spouse was responsible in 163 (58%) cases. Women were the most affected, representing 159 (57%) of the bucomaxillofacial injuries. Finally, based on age groups, 129 forensic reports indicated that adults aged 21 to 36 years represented 46% of bucomaxillofacial injuries. Conclusion: According to the total forensic reports, bucomaxillofacial injuries predominantly occurred in women due to physical violence inflicted by their spouses, highlighting the persistence of machismo in society.Ítem Acceso abierto pH values of fluorinated mouthwashes marketed in Peru in 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-08-03) Zorrilla Reyes, Sheyla Sugey; Chanamé Marín, Ann RosemaryObjective: The objective of this study was to determine the average pH value of fluoridated mouthwashes sold in Peru in 2021. Methodology: This was an observational-comparative study. Seven commercial brands were evaluated, with a sample of 21 fluoridated mouthwashes, three per group: Colgate Plax Ice Glacial Zero Alcohol, Colgate Plax Soft Mint Zero Alcohol, Listerine Cuidado Total Zero, Listerine Anticaries, Oral B Complete, Dento Menta Zero Alcohol, and Vitis Orthodontic. A digital pH meter, previously calibrated, was used to measure the pH, and the data were processed using ANOVA and Tukey tests. Statistically significant differences were found in the average pH values (p=0.000, p<0.05), and these were considered acidic since the values ranged from 3.93 to 6.27. Of the evaluated brands, 6 (86%) had values below the critical pH of 5.5, which is considered potentially erosive for enamel. Listerine Anticaries was the most acidic with a pH of 3.93, and Dento Menta Zero Alcohol was the least acidic with a pH of 6.27, being the only brand above the critical value. Conclusion: It is suggested that the pH value be expressed on the commercial label to take it into account when choosing the most appropriate mouthwash based on the patient's needs, considering the benefit/side effect balance.Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between the posterior discrepancy with the inclination of the occlusal plane in patients with Skeletal Malocclusion I, II and III, attended at the Odontoz Prime clinic period 2019 – 2021, Lima 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-01-28) Oliveira Valverde, Kiara Yesebel; Chanamé Marín, Ann RosemaryThe study aimed to determine whether posterior discrepancy is related to the inclination of the occlusal plane in patients with skeletal malocclusion types I, II, and III, treated at the Odontoz Prime clinic from 2019 to 2021, Lima 2021. The study is observational, analytical, and cross-sectional. We used cephalometric and panoramic radiographs of 141 patients aged 13 to 31 years, employing specific cephalometric measurements for each variable: skeletal malocclusion (APDI), posterior discrepancy (A’-6/A’-P), and the inclination of the occlusal plane (FH-POP). The researcher was trained and conducted calibration with the interobserver Kappa index: APDI (1.00), interclass index A'P (0.958), A'6 (0.950), FH-POP (M) (0.855). The statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25, with the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test showing an abnormal distribution. Correlations were evaluated using the Spearman coefficient. In descriptive results by sex, females had 31.2% posterior discrepancy, and in terms of age, there was a predominance in patients aged 13 to 20 years. Inferential analysis showed no statistically significant results between posterior discrepancy and the inclination of the occlusal plane in patients with skeletal malocclusion: class I (p=0.457), class II (p=0.068), class III (p=0.237). This study concludes that there is no relationship between posterior discrepancy and the inclination of the occlusal plane in patients with skeletal malocclusion types I, II, and III.
