Publicación Acceso abierto Características clínicas-epidemiológicas asociados al Covid-19 en el personal de salud de un hospital militar de Lima, Perú del periodo 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-24) Changano Rodríguez, María Verónica; Hermoza Moquillaza, Rocío VictoriaObjective: to determine the clinical-epidemiological characteristics associated with COVID-19 in health personnel. Methodology: Quantitative, non-experimental, correlational study in health personnel of a Military Hospital in the city of Lima, using the database of research files for surveillance of COVID-19. Statistical analysis was obtained using SPSS 23.0v and Stata 17.0v. Results: Between March 15 and December 31, 2020, the prevalence of COVID-19 in health personnel was 271 (67.1%), of which 45.8% they are women; the average age of those confirmed was 45.3 years. Work occupation, contact with people with symptoms of acute respiratory infection or contact with a confirmed or probable case in the 14 days before the onset of symptoms, hospitalization, isolation, cough, sore throat, and other comorbidities were correlated with infection when presenting (p<0.05). The most affected personnel with 51.5% are assistance personnel: the nursing technician (18.3%), nurse (13.6%) and doctor (8.7%). 28% had contact with people with symptoms of acute respiratory infection and 19.1% reported having had contact with a confirmed or probable case in the 14 days before the onset of symptoms. 9.2% required hospitalization. Malaise (30%), sore throat (24.3%), cough (22.3%) were the most frequent symptoms. The characteristic that presented a significant association is the measure of isolation. Conclusion: certain clinical-epidemiological characteristics are associated with the COVID-19 disease in the health personnel of a Military Hospital in Lima, Peru.
