Ítem Acceso abierto Stress levels and musculoskeletal disorders in carriers public of a Lima-2022 company(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-12-02) Chapoñan Añanca, Billy Robert; Arrieta Córdova, Andy FreudIntroduction: In our vehicle fleet, there are approximately 1,800,000 vehicles on the roads, meaning that 66% of vehicles are on Peruvian routes. This indicates that, due to transportation chaos, public transport drivers work many hours, adopting static and inadequate postures, leading to muscular pain in various body segments and psychosocial stress problems. Objective: To determine the relationship between stress levels and musculoskeletal disorders in public transport drivers of a company. Materials and Methods: The study method is hypothetical-deductive. According to Baena (2017), ideas are developed from general concepts to specific ones, forming hypotheses that are tested or affirmed. Deduction includes certainty and truth, and conclusions should be compared with reality. Research Approach: Variable 1: Stress levels, Variable 2: Musculoskeletal disorders, Intervening variable: Sociodemographic factors. Baena (2017) argues that the technique is the way or manner in which the method is applied in the research. The techniques used in this study will be observation and surveys. Instruments used will include the Nordic Questionnaire for musculoskeletal disorders and the Perceived Stress Scale for stress levels. Data collection will occur at a set time and as follows: permission will be requested from the company's HR manager, followed by providing informed consent, with a copy given to the participant. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes. The data collection form will be divided into: a) Sociodemographic information (age 18-60, sex, education level), b) Stress levels (Perceived Stress Scale), c) Musculoskeletal disorders (Nordic Questionnaire). Description of instruments: A data collection form will be used for sociodemographics, which will include age (18 to 60 years), sex (male/female), and education level (primary, secondary, or higher). The study will be quantitative, following Hernández's (2014) assertion that the study should be structured. Questions and objectives are developed based on ideas and research, leading to measurable hypotheses and analysis of results. Type of Research: This is an applied study, according to Baena (2017), aimed at studying and implementing practical solutions. Research Design: The study is non-experimental, with a cross-sectional design (Hernández, 2014) and correlational scope, as the study seeks to relate two variables in a specific context. Population, Sample, and Sampling: The population consists of 120 drivers and conductors working for the Los Chinos transport company from November 2021 to March 2022. The sample, as per Hernández (2014), is the subset of the population where the research will be carried out, representing the population. The sample for this study is 93 public transport drivers.
