Publicación Acceso abierto Factores asociados con relación al consumo de benzodiazepinas en adultos que acuden a la farmacia líder en el distrito de San Juan de Lurigancho. Lima 2023–2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-10) Chavarria Chavez, Jhon Edward; Oyarce Alvarado, ElmerThe research aimed to determine the relationship between associated factors and benzodiazepine consumption in adults attending Farmacia Líder in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, 2023–2024. A hypothetical–deductive methodology with a quantitative approach was applied, classified as basic research, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive–correlational design. A validated instrument was administered to a sample of 270 adult benzodiazepine consumers. Results indicated that 57.4% of consumers were between 31 and 60 years old, with women representing the majority (65.0%). A relationship was observed between age and the clinical diagnosis leading to consumption, with 74.7% reporting use for anxiety and 28.3% for sleep disorders, both increasing with age. Furthermore, 32.9% consumed benzodiazepines due to family problems, 51.1% reported health issues, and 35.0% due to alcohol-related problems. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between associated factors, particularly demographic and social dimensions, and benzodiazepine consumption among adults attending Farmacia Líder.
