Ítem Acceso abierto Self-esteem levels of the students of the School of Nursing at Universidad Norbert Wiener, 2016(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Chavez Alegria, Ingrid Pamela; Krederdt Araujo, Sherin LuzObjective: To determine the self-esteem level of students at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Norbert Wiener University in 2016. Materials and Methods: This is a quantitative study with a descriptive, cross-sectional, and prospective design. The Population: It consisted of 116 students from the 1st cycle to the 10th cycle of the Academic Professional School of Nursing. The technique used was a survey and the instrument was the Modified Self-Esteem Scale by Stanley Coopersmith, which aimed to identify the self-esteem level in nursing students. This instrument contains 25 statements. The data processing was done using EXCEL 2007 and SPSS version 20 for Windows 7.5. Results: It was found that 60% are between 15-20 years old, 15% are between 21-30 years old, 15% are between 31-40 years old, and finally, 10% are between 41-50 years old. Likewise, 28% are male and 72% are female, and finally, 84% are single and 16% are married. In the dimension of self-esteem, it was observed that 68% have high self-esteem, 17% have medium-high self-esteem, and 15% have medium-low self-esteem. According to the social dimension, 70% have high self-esteem and 30% have medium-high self-esteem. In the home dimension, it was observed that 16% have high self-esteem, 61% have medium-high self-esteem, and 26% have medium-low self-esteem. Conclusion: Regarding self-esteem in the self-dimension, 68% (79 students) have high self-esteem, 17% (20 students) have medium-high self-esteem, and 15% (17 students) have medium-low self-esteem. In this case, no students with low self-esteem were observed.
