Ítem Acceso abierto Hamstring flexibility and lower limb muscle strength in soccer players with knee injury from a soccer academy in Callao, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-06-21) Chavez Ravines, Edith Fiorela; Arrieta Córdova, Andy FreudIntroduction: Football is considered one of the sports that places the highest demand on the locomotor system, as the knee adopts various positions of sports gestures, increasing the risk of injury. A study by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) determined that muscle injury is the most common, particularly in the posterior region, which is supported by the Australian Football League's finding that the hamstring muscle is more prone to injury than the quadriceps. Due to this, several authors have proposed a multifactorial origin, with strength and flexibility being key factors. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between hamstring flexibility and lower limb muscle strength in football players with knee injuries at a football academy. METHODOLOGY: A hypothetico-deductive, quantitative, applied research method with a non-experimental correlational design. POPULATION: 140 football players, with a sample of 100 selected using non-probabilistic sampling.
