The purpose of this research is to describe the characteristics of family functionality in psychiatric patients hospitalized for psychoactive substance use at the Regional Hospital of Trujillo, using the Family Apgar instrument, which was designed in 1978 by Dr. Gabriel Smilkstein from the University of Washington, USA; who based it on his experience as a family doctor.
