Publicación Acceso abierto Método de aprendizaje basado en problemas y competencias transversales en estudiantes del IV año de la carrera de Terapia Física y Rehabilitación de una universidad pública de Lima Metropolitana, 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-01-26) Chiroque Solano, Karen Vanessa; Mescua Figueroa, Augusto CésarThis research aimed to determine the relationship between the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method and the development of transversal competencies (TUNING) in undergraduate students over the fourth-year of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at the public university in Metropolitan Lima. The applied methodology was cross-sectional, descriptive, and inferential statistics. The reliability of the instrument was measured using the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient (97%). The Spearman correlation measure was calculated to test the hypothesis of independence between the questions from the PBL questionnaire and the questions from the TUNING questionnaire. Results: The sample consisted of 80 students who answered the PBL and TUNING questionnaires. 69% of participants were women, 32.5% live in downtown Lima and 44% are between 24-34 years. The PBL and TUNING questions showed a positive relationship between the communication factor (PBL) and the information management factor (TUNING), which obtained 0.48 (p-value < 0.05) of Spearman’s coefficient. On the other hand, the Spearman correlation coefficient for the teacher identification on strengths and weaknesses factor (PBL) and the use of technology factor (TUNING) was -0.40 (p-value < 0.05) showing an indirect relationship. Thus, we concluded that the questions of the PBL and TUNING questionnaires are related to the fourth-year undergraduate students of a public university in Metropolitan Lima.
