    Body mass index and physical activity in high school students of the Gran Libertador Simón Bolívar School – Arequipa, 2022

    This research aims to "determine the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and physical activity in high school students." The study will involve 80 students aged 14 to 17, evaluating both BMI and physical activity (IPAQ) to verify the existing relationship between these variables. BMI affects not only older adults but is increasingly visible among high school students due to their notable physical inactivity. Therefore, it is important to understand how much this issue is affecting the student population. Material and Methods: A scale and tape measure will be used to assess the BMI, and a survey will be conducted to assess the level of physical activity. Methods: This study uses a hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, applied type, and non-experimental correlational design.
