    Investigación de las tesis realizadas sobre plantas medicinales y alimenticias en la Facultad de Farmacia y Bioquímica de la Universidad Norbert Wiener del 2012 al 2016

    This research involved the search for theses conducted on medicinal plants and food plants at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of Norbert Wiener University from 2012 to 2016. A normalized format was developed and organized according to the following fields: Thesis Title, Thesis Reference Number, Code Assigned by the staff of the Hemeroteca y Biblioteca of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Scientific Name of the Species, Botanical Family of the Species, Synonymy of the Species, Common Name of the Species, Chemical Markers of the Species, Nutritional Value (for food plants), Pharmacological Property of the Species, Medicinal Use of the Species (generally the best known), Popular Uses of the Species (what it is used for and how it is used), Toxicity of the Species, Location of the Species, whether it is Native to Peru, Thesis Author, and Year of Defense. A total of twenty-four (24) theses on medicinal and food plant species were reviewed. All reviewed theses corresponded to experimental research; no descriptive studies were found. Seven (7) theses corresponded to food plants, and seventeen (17) corresponded to medicinal plants. This work will serve to create a catalog where all the theses on medicinal and food plants studied at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry can be found, complementing the existing thesis, Catalog of medicinal and food plants, with code (T/FYB/ 0227), compiled in 2012, which is located in the University's Hemeroteca.
