Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge and its relation to nursing practice about neurodevelopmental centered care of the premature newborn in the neonatal intensive care unit of Huacho 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-08-01) Collantes Jara, Lesly Odely; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleCare focused on neurodevelopment is the actions provided by the nursing professional to guarantee the continuity of the neurological development of the newborn in the extrauterine environment, including interventions aimed at controlling external stimuli (macroenvironment), such as lights and noises. environmental conditions, optimizing the environment in which the child develops (microenvironment), maintaining the position of the premature neonate, minimal manipulation and pain management, and family-centered care that includes the use of the Kangaroo Mother Method (MMC), breastfeeding and parental intervention. The objective of the research is to determine the relationship that exists between the level of knowledge and practice of the nurse about care focused on the neurodevelopment of the premature newborn in the Neonatal ICU of Huacho 2021. The research methodology is quantitative, descriptive and correlational design. The population will be made up of 35 nurses who work in the Neonatal ICU Service of a Hospital in Huacho. A validated questionnaire of 20 questions will be applied to measure the level of knowledge and a checklist consisting of 32 items with dichotomous answers, to measure the practice of nursing care.
