Ítem Acceso abierto Evaluation of Anxiety Levels in Undergraduate Students of the Professional School of Dentistry of the Norbert Wiener Private University in Time of Pandemic by Covid-19, Lima - Peru 2020.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-07-16) Contreras Villegas, Zoila del Carmen; Vergara Pinto, Brenda RoxanaResearch indicates that public health emergencies may have various consequences on the mental state of university students. The purpose of this study was to assess anxiety in undergraduate students at the Professional School of Dentistry of the Private University Norbert Wiener during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 154 students from the 4th to the 10th cycle participated in the study, which took place from October to January 2020. The Generalized Anxiety Disorder scale (GAD-7) was used. The results showed that 31.8% of the students exhibited a minimal level of anxiety. A statistically significant association was found only between sex and anxiety. Regarding age, a significant proportion of students aged 20 to 25 years exhibited a Moderate level of anxiety at 12.3%. Students in the 7th and 10th cycles reported Minimal and Mild anxiety levels of 9.1% respectively in both cases. It was concluded that dental students exhibit minimal anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic. The adapted and validated virtual questionnaire (GAD-7) would be very beneficial for the public health challenges in our country.
