Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional intelligence in nursing interns of Norbert Wiener University 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-01-31) Corilloclla Navarro, Yeny Kary; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeObjective: To determine the level of emotional intelligence in nursing interns at the Universidad Norbert Wiener 2019. Material and Methods: The study was quantitative, non-experimental, and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 113 interns from the ninth and tenth semesters of the nursing school. The data collection technique used was a survey, and the instrument was the Trait Meta-Mood Scale for emotional intelligence. Data processing was performed using the SPSS statistical program. Results: 38.1% of nursing interns exhibited adequate emotional intelligence, and 33.6% had low emotional intelligence. Regarding the dimensions, 42.5% (48) showed excellent emotional intelligence in the attention factor, 31.9% (36) had low emotional intelligence, and 25.7% (29) exhibited adequate emotional intelligence. For the clarity factor, 41.6% (47) showed low emotional intelligence, 30.1% (34) had excellent emotional intelligence, and 28.3% (32) had adequate emotional intelligence. In the repair factor, 36.3% (41) showed adequate emotional intelligence, 35.4% (40) had low emotional intelligence, and 28.3% (32) showed excellent emotional intelligence. Conclusion: The emotional intelligence level of the nursing interns is adequate.
