Ítem Acceso abierto Factors that determine burnout syndrome in nursing professionals in the intensive care unit(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Lavado Becerra, Harold Brant's; Cornejo Falcon, Katharine Jennifer; Remuzgo Artezano, AnikaObjective: To analyze and systematize the factors that determine Burnout Syndrome in nurses working in intensive care units. Materials and Methods: Systematic review, observational, and retrospective, with a critical selection of the most important articles according to the Grade system. Results: Of the 7 articles selected, 29% (2) came from Spain, 29% (2) from Mexico, 14% (1) from Peru, Cuba, and Chile respectively. Most of the studies were systematic reviews from Spain and Chile, with cross-sectional studies from Cuba, Peru, and Mexico. The majority (71%) found that the primary factors contributing to Burnout Syndrome were work overload, with 29% pointing to working conditions (type of contract, low salary) and additional factors like age, sex, children, and work experience. Conclusions: The most significant factors contributing to Burnout Syndrome in nurses are work overload and working conditions, which are key contributors to the development of Burnout Syndrome.
