Publicación Acceso abierto Efecto antihelmíntico de las hojas de Artemisia absinthium L. (ajenjo) para combatir Enterobius vermicularis (oxiuros) en niños del centro poblado Udima – Catache – Santa Cruz, Cajamarca – Perú 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-05-04) Correa Malaver, Sandi Margarita; Díaz Sánchez, Isamar Miniamin; Bustamante Fustamante, Flor LidiaThe objective was to determine the effect of wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) leaves in combating Enterobius vermicularis (pinworms) in children from the Udima community. The study followed a hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach and an experimental design including pre- and post-treatment tests. The study population consisted of 117 children, aged 3 to 9 years, treated at the Udima Health Center, Cajamarca, with a sample of 90 diagnosed with pinworm parasitosis through the Graham test. Results showed a significant prevalence of E. vermicularis infection, affecting 53.3% of the children. Daily doses of 4 grams of wormwood leaves did not result in significant reductions of pinworms. However, doses of 6.5 grams and 9.0 grams showed significant effects in reducing the parasite. These findings indicate that doses of 6.5 and 9 grams of wormwood leaves have a significant impact on decreasing pinworm infections in children.
