Publicación Acceso abierto Análisis situacional de las condiciones higiénico – sanitarias del manipulador de alimentos en los mercados de abastos de Lima Cercado enero–junio 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-03-04) Zárate Murillo, Wilber; Huamán Santos, Elizabeth Reyna; Crispín Pérez, VíctorThe objective of this research was to conduct a situational analysis of the hygienic–sanitary conditions of food handlers in wholesale markets in downtown Lima. A quantitative study was carried out using a non-experimental, observational, cross-sectional, descriptive design. Data were collected through a sanitary inspection checklist between January and June 2017, which included items such as sanitary habits, presentation of a training certificate in Good Food Handling Practices, and possession of a valid health card. The results show that 78.5% of food handlers do not apply Good Food Handling Practices, 57% present a valid health card, and 46% of food handlers demonstrate inadequate personal hygiene. It is necessary to intensify sanitary inspections, training, awareness, and sensitization of food handlers to ensure compliance with current sanitary regulations. In this way, foodborne diseases could be reduced, thereby lowering risk factors for public health.Publicación Acceso abierto Conocimientos y actitudes sobre el uso del anticonceptivo oral de emergencia en internos de farmacia en la Universidad Norbert Wiener, enero–mayo 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-11) Espinoza Huamanchumo, Martha Melissa; López Mendoza, Elinda; Crispín Pérez, VíctorThe aim of this research was to determine the knowledge and attitudes regarding the use of Emergency Oral Contraceptives (EOC) among pharmacy interns. The study was conducted between August and December 2014. It was an observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional study involving a population of 284 students. To achieve the research objectives, a survey was conducted with a sample of 166 students. The results showed that 112 students (67.47%) were female and 54 (32.53%) were male. Ages ranged from 20 to 50 years; 123 students (74.10%) were single, 42 (25.30%) were married, and 1 (0.6%) was divorced. Regarding knowledge of the EOC mechanism of action, 123 students (74.2%) demonstrated a poor level. Concerning knowledge of EOC side effects, 116 students (69.88%) reached a good level. Furthermore, 151 students (90.96%) showed good knowledge about the time after unprotected sexual intercourse for EOC use (72 hours). Regarding practices related to EOC use, all 166 students (100%) reported having used the EOC. They demonstrated appropriate practices regarding the reasons for using the EOC. Additionally, 150 students (90.36%) reported using a regular or alternative contraceptive method after taking the EOC, reflecting appropriate practices. The main reasons for frequent EOC use among students were the ease of accessing a pharmacy quickly, lack of time, and insufficient funds for medical consultations. Consequently, 142 students (85.54%) reported using the EOC without a medical prescription, reflecting inadequate practice levels.Publicación Acceso abierto Prescripción de medicamentos del Seguro Integral de Salud (SIS) en niños menores de 11 años en un establecimiento de salud urbano marginal, enero–junio 2013(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Cabrera Palomino, Lucy; Ramos Matos, Lucinda Zelmira; Crispín Pérez, VíctorAccording to the World Health Organization (WHO), the rational use of medicines implies that patients receive drugs suitable for their clinical needs, in appropriate doses, and for an adequate duration of time. In clinical practice, most medical consultations end with a prescription. The Comprehensive Health Insurance (SIS) provides health services to populations living in extreme poverty, although with certain limitations. The main objective of this study was to evaluate medicine prescriptions under the SIS program in children under 11 years of age at the San Fernando Health Center, San Juan de Lurigancho, a primary care facility, between January and June 2013. The study population consisted of 1,214 prescriptions issued to 806 children under 11 years of age. This was a descriptive, retrospective, and observational study, based on the analysis of medical prescriptions, which were organized into databases using Microsoft Office Excel 2010. The findings showed that the largest number of prescriptions were issued for male children (418; 51.9%). The most represented age group was children aged 0–2 years (37.7%), followed by those aged 3–5 years (32.3%). The most common diagnosis was acute pharyngitis (40.3%). The therapeutic groups with the highest prescription rates were anti-inflammatory drugs (39.5%), antibiotics (25.2%), and antihistamines (20.3%). Among antibiotics, amoxicillin 250 mg/5 ml suspension (60 ml) was the most frequently prescribed (50.2%). Oral administration was the predominant route (94.1%). In conclusion, medicine prescriptions under the SIS program for children under 11 years of age were mainly associated with acute pharyngitis, with anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, and antihistamines being the most frequently prescribed, especially oral formulations.Publicación Acceso abierto Prescripción, dispensación y expendio de antibióticos en farmacias y boticas del km 40, distrito de Lurín, enero–junio 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-03-15) Dávila Camargo, Claudia Geraldine; Menacho Pascual, Erika; Crispín Pérez, VíctorThe study conducted on the prescription, dispensing, and sale of antibiotics in pharmacies and drugstores at kilometer 40, Lurín District, from January to June 2017, had as its objective to determine the prescription, dispensing, and sale of antibiotics in pharmacies and drugstores at kilometer 40, Lurín District, during the period January–June 2017.
