Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge and attitude of mothers about the kangaroo mother method in the neonatal and intermediate intensive care unit of a hospital in Puente Piedra, Lima 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-03-10) Cubas Bejar, Jackeline Maria; Suarez Valderrama, Yurik AnatoliIn the world, neonatal prematurity is a problem for the health system as well as for the family and society, in that sense the use of the kangaroo mother method is a model of care for premature babies to improve through humanized and safe treatment, the reduction of mortality, increased quality of life and therefore reduced hospitalization time; based on exclusive breastfeeding, early stimulation, thermoregulation by skin-to-skin contact between mother and newborn. The objective is to “Determine the level of knowledge and attitude of mothers about the kangaroo mother method in the Neonatal and Intermediate Intensive Care Unit of a Puente Piedra Hospital. Lima, 2024”. The methodology that will be used will be a hypothetical deductive method, quantitative and descriptive, correlational, non-experimental approach. The sample will consist of 98 mothers of premature neonates hospitalized in the Neonatal and Intermediate Intensive Care Unit of the Puente Piedra hospital. A questionnaire will be applied to measure the level of knowledge and at the same time another scale questionnaire will be applied to measure the level of attitude of the mothers. The data will be processed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the help of SPSS and Excell computing. The results, as appropriate, will be illustrated in tables, figures and, among others, as appropriate; On the other hand, the Rho Spearman will be used to measure the correlation of the variables.
