    The sample consisted of 142 children selected according to inclusion criteria from a population of 194 children enrolled in the 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old classrooms across seven sections. Results indicate that 79.6% had a normal BMI (Body Mass Index), 14.8% were overweight, and 5.6% were obese. Furthermore, 99.3% presented normal hemoglobin levels and 0.7% decreased levels. 99.3% had normal hematocrit levels and 0.7% decreased levels. According to the Pearson correlation of the BMI and hemoglobin data (R=0.023) and the BMI and hematocrit data (R=0.055), both correlations are non-significant. Therefore, it is concluded that BMI is not related to hemoglobin and hematocrit. The study's child population showed no significant nutritional deficiencies; on the contrary, most indicators were within normal levels, although a certain tendency toward nutritional excess was observed, with more cases of overweight than obesity. These results indicate that the children's nutritional requirements are being met by the parents, but an excess in the diet is mistakenly occurring due to lack of knowledge and information.
