    Peak expiratory flow and sleep quality in postgraduate teachers at the Norbert Wiener Private University - 2021

    Lung diseases are responsible for high mortality worldwide, along with risks and complications, among other factors. Health threats to our lungs are everywhere and begin early in life, when we are more vulnerable (1). According to WHO estimates from 2014, 235 million people suffer from asthma and 64 million have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (2). These diseases can be exacerbated and complicated by respiratory infections (3), and are non-communicable diseases (NCDs) affecting the respiratory system. This research is justified by the existing information on the study variables, which will create additional background to support research in this field for the benefit of Peruvian society. The methodology will use a data collection sheet to gather patient data, as well as flowmeter values, validated by expert judgment. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), a validated tool, will also be used for sleep quality. The study population will consist of 100 university professors, both male and female, aged 30–60, from the graduate school at the Universidad Particular Norbert Wiener during the 2021 period.
